Taurus children can be known to hold back emotions and desires until provocation releases them. Taurus children who are taught to control their emotional outbursts can develop into sensitive, intuitive persons. The Taurus child loves beauty and harmony and loathes disorganization. Taurus children are also generous, kindhearted, trustworthy, and intensely strong willed. They love the good things in life but are rarely overly dramatic or charismatic. A Taurus child will be gifted with many talents. He or she will be good at executive work and being in charge of others as well as with things to do with the earth, such as real estate, mining, and oil fields. Taurus is often competent in positions of trust and confidence, such as a doctor, nurse, or judge. Even though practicality is a strong part of the Taurus makeup, Taurus can also make wonderful artists, especially in the fields of architecture, interior design, and textiles.
The Bull could be
considered the worker bee
of the Zodiac, not the image you might have of this hard-charging sort.
Taurus
is reliable and loyal, easy to get along with
and a good team player.
They're also practical and grounded,
as befits an
Earth Sign. If you want
things to get done, call the Bull. You may have to ring them two or three times,
though, since they can be a bit lazy to get going, but once they're up and
running, look out! There's a focus and single-mindedness of purpose there that
can come in plenty handy. Taureans can be
notoriously strong-willed, so it's a good idea for
colleagues to lay down the law first -- the Bull will follow their lead and work
hard. So hard, in fact, that Taureans are often the pillar of a company, the
community and certainly their family. Hey, that's what those strong shoulders
are for! Organization is also something that is best placed in the Bull's
capable hands. Taurus is also associated with any occupation that involves the shrewd acquisition of land, investments, or goods which inclusive of banking, farming, floristry, interior design, architecture, food, engineering, construction, general medical practice, executive secretarial positions, stable occupations in established institutions.

TAURUS
Taurus, the feminine (yin)
sheath of Venus, is attractive and magnetic. Taureans have personal magnetism
and are able to draw others into their circle, rather than actively seeking them
out. In other words, while they are very fond of members of the opposite sex,
they prefer to be courted.
A tender meeting of like minds over a delicious repast, combined with
fine
wine
and luscious music, in a secure environment where nothing unexpected is likely
to occur is Taurus ideal scenario for seduction. Taurus, however, is
straight-forward and down-to-earth in sexual matters. A no-nonsense approach is favoured and too much verbalising, or
complex fantasising is not really Taurus's thing. Music or other forms of
sensual, non-verbal expression will strike a chord in the Taurean nature. Taurus
sexuality is strong and deep, though not necessarily electric on the surface.
Sensual, but conservative, Taureans prefer a cosy courtship, replete with good food
and wine in copious quantities. Ruled by Venus, the
goddess
of beauty and desire, Taureans are strikingly attractive, in a somewhat statuesque
way. Taureans sensuality and readiness to please make them a desirable partner for
one who seeks a solid, secure and long-lasting relationship. Taurus have a marked fondness for all pleasures of the senses, but, of course, do
not give themselvesf lightly to mere passing fancies. This reflects their great
strength and loyalty. Elegant, erotic Venus stimulates their earthy appetites,
which can be voracious when awakened. Indeed, Taurus sexuality is more readily
aroused when your appetite for edibles has been assuaged.
Taurus and SexWhen a typical Taurus makes love it is the most physical and natural pleasure in the whole world. Sex is never a power game for a Taurean; it is something very natural to be enjoyed. Taureans, especially females, are sometimes embarrassed about their bodies if they feel they are being criticized. On the whole, Taurus regards nudity as natural and wholesome.
Taurus and Partner
The person who contemplates
becoming the marriage or business partner of a typical Taurus must realize that
Taurus will expect absolute loyalty through thick and thin and will probably
want to establish a routine way of doing things his or her way. Given this, the
person who partners Taurus can expect honest devotion, a long-term relationship,
and a partner who can keep his or her head in any emergency. Taurus Man As A Partner
He will want a partner who
enjoys his way of doing things. The partner should be prepared to take the
responsibility for good public relations while Taurus works quietly away
ensuring that money and power come their way. The Taurean husband wants a
marriage partner whom he can possess, body, soul and dowry. He needs a woman who
enjoys physical love, since to Taureans there is no division between love, sex,
and marriage.
She will want a partner who is
attentive and appreciative. Common sense is essential in any partner of a
Taurus. She, like her male counterpart, will look for a business partner who
will bring prestige to the business. The Taurean wife wants to be given gifts
and treated with gentleness. She does not want to be patronized, but she does
want her man to remember her birthday and other anniversaries. She needs a
husband who will let her organize at least a part of his life and who will never
give her cause for jealousy. Polar Sign
Scorpio is the complementary
opposite sign to Taurus. Although relations between Taurus and Scorpio can be
difficult because they are both stubborn signs, Scorpio can show Taurus how to
gain insight into the needs and motives of other people, and thus also into his
or her own life. In this way, Taurus can use his or her natural sensitivity to
help in the service of others.
In general Taurus likes a friend who is reliable, unchanging, and not
given to sudden excitement or changes of plans. Taureans are very warm and
affectionate toward their friends. They enjoy friendship with people who have
good taste and with whom they can enjoy a quiet conversation or a concert or a
football game.
A compatibility chart, below, lists those with whom Taurus is likely to have the most satisfactory relationships.
Taurus people are most compatible with Virgos and Capricorns.

Al Pacino
Al Pacino (born 1940) has been
called one of the best actors in film history. He established himself as a
Hollywood icon when he burst onto the scene in The Godfather and followed that
critically acclaimed performance with eight Academy Award nominations and more
than 20 movies over 30 years. Through it all, Pacino stayed grounded in his
first love: theater. But despite three decades of fame and success, the man
behind the actor, who cherished his privacy, remained something of a mystery.
An actor, director and screenwriter who has become one of the most recognized Hollywood figures of our time, Empire has the rare distinction of being admired and copied by his contemporaries. His laconic style and eccentric temperament have insured his fame for many more years to come. He was ranked #6 in Empire (UK) magazine's "The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time" list on October 1997. David Beckham
David Robert Joseph Beckham,
OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English professional football (soccer) midfielder
who plays for and captains Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy.[3] He is
also currently a member of the England national team. He was chosen runner-up
for FIFA World Player of the Year twice, and as recently as 2004 was the world's
highest-paid footballer.[4] He was Google's most searched of all sports topics
in both 2003 and 2004.[5] Such global recognition has made him an elite
advertising brand and a top fashion icon. Beckham was captain of England from 15
November 2000 to 2 July 2006. He made 58 appearances as captain, and ended his
tenure in that role after the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals. He continued to make
contributions for the England national team in 2007 competitions.Beckham's
career began when he signed a professional contract with Manchester United,
making his first-team debut in 1992 aged 17. During his time there, United won
the Premiership title six times, the FA Cup twice, and the UEFA Champions League
in 1999. He left Manchester United to sign for Real Madrid in 2003, where he
remained for four seasons. In his final season, Real clinched the La Liga title
(Beckham's only major trophy with the club) in the final game of the season. Johannes Brahms
Brahms studied the piano from the age of seven and theory and composition
(with Eduard Marxsen) from 13, gaining experience as an arranger for his
father's light orchestra while absorbing the popular alla zingarese style
associated with Hungarian folk music. In 1853, on a tour with the Hungarian
violinist Reményi, he met Joseph Joachim and Liszt; Joachim, who became a
lifelong friend, encouraged him to meet Schumann. Brahms's artistic kinship with
Robert Schumann and his profound romantic passion (later mellowing to
veneration) for Clara Schumann, 14 years his elder, never left him. After a time
in Düsseldorf he worked in Detmold, settling in Hamburg in 1859 to direct a
women's chorus. Though well known as a pianist he had trouble finding
recognition as a composer, largely owing to his outspoken opposition – borne out
in his D minor Piano Concerto op.15 – to the aesthetic principles of Liszt and
the New German School. But his hopes for an official conducting post in Hamburg
(never fulfilled) were strengthened by growing appreciation of his creative
efforts, especially the two orchestral serenades, the Handel Variations for
piano and the early piano quartets. He finally won a position of influence in
1863-4, as director of the Vienna Singakademie, concentrating on historical and
modern a cappella works. Around this time he met Wagner, but their opposed
stances precluded anything like friendship. Besides giving concerts of his own
music, he made tours throughout northern and central Europe and began teaching
the piano. He settled permanently in Vienna in 1868.

Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale was born into a rich, upper-class well-connected
English family at the Villa Colombaia, Florence, Grand Duchy of Tuscany, and was
named after the city of her birth.[2]Her parents were William Edward Nightingale
(1794–1875) and Frances "Fanny" Nightingale née Smith (1789–1880). William
Nightingale was born William Edward Shore. His mother Mary née Evans was the
niece of one Peter Nightingale, under the terms of whose will William Shore not
only inherited his estate Lea Hurst in Derbyshire, but also assumed the name and
arms of Nightingale. Fanny's father (Florence's maternal grandfather) was the
abolitionist Will Smith. Inspired by what she took as a Christian divine
calling, experienced first in 1837 at Embley Park and later throughout her life,
Nightingale committed herself to nursing. This demonstrated a passion on her
part, and also a rebellion against the expected role for a woman of her status,
which was to become a wife and mother. In those days, nursing was a career with
a poor reputation, filled mostly by poorer women, "hangers-on" who followed the
armies. In fact, nurses were equally likely to function as cooks. Nightingale
announced her decision to enter nursing in 1845 evoking intense anger and
distress from her family particularly her mother.Florence Nightingale's most
famous contribution came during the Crimean War, which became her central focus
when reports began to filter back to Britain about the horrific conditions for
the wounded. During the Crimean campaign Florence Nightingale gained the
nickname "The Lady with the Lamp", deriving from a phrase in a report in The
Times:
William Shakespeare (baptised 26 April 1564 – 23 April 1616)[a] was an English poet and playwright, now widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's preeminent dramatist.[1][2] He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon" (or simply "The Bard"). His surviving works consist of 38 plays,154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright. Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. William Shakespeare was indeed lucky to survive to adulthood in sixteenth-century England. Waves of the plague swept across the countryside, and pestilence ravaged Stratford during the hot summer months. Mary and John Shakespeare became parents for the first time in September of 1558, when their daughter Joan was born. Nothing is known of Joan Shakespeare except for the fact that she was baptized in Stratford on September 15, and succumbed to the plague shortly after. Their second child, Margaret, was born in 1562 and was baptized on December 2. She died one year later. The Shakespeares' fourth child, Gilbert, was baptized on October 13, 1566, at Holy Trinity. It is likely that John Shakespeare named his second son after his friend and neighbor on Henley Street, Gilbert Bradley, a glover and the burgess of Stratford for a time. Records show that Gilbert Shakespeare survived the plague and reached adulthood, becoming a haberdasher, working in London as of 1597, and spending much of his time back in Stratford. At the age of 18 he married Anne Hathaway, who bore him three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Between 1585 and 1592 he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part-owner of the playing company the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known as the King's Men. He appears to have retired to Stratford around 1613, where he died three years later.
Howard Carter
He made the find of the 20th century and discovered the most spectacular
treasure the world had ever seen. For over 30 years, Howard Carter searched the
Egyptian desert, seeking the ultimate prize. Then, in November 1922, with his
money, luck, and time running out, he discovered the golden tomb of the boy king
Tutankhamun. Yet, all that glittered was not gold for the acclaimed
archaeologist. See how the treasure brought with it heartbreak, confrontation,
and acrimony that would plague him forever.
